Relax again and enjoy everyday life in peace
Communication with those in need of care is simple and reliable with the CCS
A relative in need of care in the house changes every moment of everyday life. And in addition to the challenges of care, there is often a great deal of uncertainty. Will my mother be okay while I go shopping? Will she try to get up even though she can’t manage it on her own? Will I wake up at night if she calls out from another room or floor?
Reliable communication with those in need of care is problematic, because people with limited abilities often find it difficult to operate telephones or mobile phones. And devices that look like an “alarm button” cause inhibitions. Burmeier now offers a solution that does away with all of these problems: the “CCS – Care Communication System”
Connection at the touch of a button
The centrepiece of the CCS is a small box that is attached to the safety sides of the care bed. The resident can simply press two large buttons to attract attention. The red button sends a request for a callback to the carer’s smartphone. The green button invites friends or relatives to call for a chat. Depending on the resident’s cognitive abilities, the buttons can show friendly photo portraits of relatives or can be covered individually to make them anxiety-free and easy to use.
The addressees receive the callback request via an app on their smartphone or tablet. With just a few flicks of the finger, they can establish a connection. The box fitted to the bed serves as a hands-free unit – all it needs is a mobile phone connection, which can be easily established with a prepaid SIM card. If the addressee is currently unavailable, he or she can immediately forward the message to another person’s or relative’s smartphone. The CCS enables the creation of secure information chains with several addressees. These networks are created and managed via an Internet portal.
Light for orientation
What happens when a dementia patient is no longer able to communicate? The CCS can help here too. With its integrated Out-of-Bed System, it signals if the resident gets up and does not return to bed within a specified period of time.
At the same time, it switches on a light underneath the bed which helps with orientation in the dark and reduces the risk of falling. Relatives can sleep much more peacefully and cope more easily with everyday life. The often overwhelming burden of home care eases and gives way to a new quality of life.
The CCS is currently available for Burmeier’s Dali II 24 Volt and Allura II beds as well as for the bed inserts of the Lippe range. Ask for advice when you purchase your bed at the medical supply store. If you already use one of the above mentioned models at home, it can be easily retrofitted.
