Enough beds to reach half way across Europe

Burmeier celebrated its 1,000,000th care bed at the REHACARE

08. November 2017

A flash of shimmering gold welcomed visitors to the Burmeier stand at the REHACARE before they even got there. A several metre-long banner bearing the impressive figure 1,000,000 spanned the exhibition stand. The reason behind this is an anniversary which everyone at Burmeier is very proud of: the production of one million beds for home care.

Managing director Reiner Rekemeier listed the reasons for this impressive figure in an interview: This success has been made possible by the daily dedication of our great production, sales, purchasing and logistics team, and especially by the loyalty of our customers. I would like to thank them all very much,” he said.

Successful model Dali

Burmeier has been looking after the homecare sector in the Stiegelmeyer Group since 1995. The Dali II 24 Volt model is the most successful model out of the million beds. This bed, which is Germany's best-selling care bed, has brought comfort, safety and a feeling of security to hundreds of thousands of people. But Burmeier's range of products and services goes far beyond this – from the elegant Regia private customer bed to the innovative Vertica homecare mobilisation bed.

Burmeier care beds are principally manufactured in our ultra-modern production facility in the southern Polish city of Kepno. Other beds and accessories as well as furniture are manufactured at our German locations in Herford and Nordhausen. The beds are stored and inspected at the Burmeier headquarters in Lage.

Musical fun for trade fair visitors

Visitors to the REHACARE were able to celebrate the anniversary and win high-value vouchers for a musical by Stage Entertainment ("Tarzan", "The Lion King"). To take part, they had to mark a cross on a map showing where a straight line made up of all of the 1,000,000 beds would reach to from the Burmeier site – Warsaw, Seville or even Gran Canaria? A care bed is 2 metres long, which means that the line of beds placed end to end is around 2,000,000 metres or 2,000 kilometres long. And as the crow flies, Seville is 1,992 km away from Lage. Congratulations to all the winners! We wish you an enjoyable trip to a musical, spiced with a dash of Spanish passion!
