The MultiFlex+ safety sides of the hospital bed Puro

Split safety sides that are easy to use in everyday life and support patient mobilisation – in many cases this is the ideal equipment for a hospital bed. We have made this ideal a reality with the MultiFlex+ safety sides for our Puro. Magdalena Höwelkröger, trainee at the Stiegelmeyer-Group’s product management, shows the easy handling of the MultiFlex+.

The bars of the MultiFlex+ move up and down on slim, elegant support elements. If the safety sides are lowered, these supports rest at the bed frame, folded down to the side. If you want to use the safety sides, first of all raise the support elements until they click into place vertically by themselves.

Now grasp the upper bar with both hands – it rests on the inside at the bed frame. Pull it up evenly in a horizontal position. The lower bar follows automatically. Pull until both bars are securely locked onto the support elements. Repeat this process with the other parts oft he MultiFlex+ at the head side and foot side until the patient is optimally protected according to his needs.

If you want to lower the safety sides again, grasp the handle on the inside of the upper bar and lift the bar slightly (left picture). Now press the release mechanism on the outside of the bar with your thumb (right picture) to unlock the safety sides. The MultiFlex+ can be lowered effortlessly with one hand.

The lowering of the bars works the same way on the head and foot side.

After unlocking, gently lower the upper bar until both bars have reached their resting position.

After lowering the bars at the foot side oft he bed, both support elements will automatically fold down with a cushioned effect. On the head side, however, only the outer support element lowers by itself. The middle element remains upright as a mobilisation support.

Especially when getting up, the patient can ergonomically push himself up on the mobilisation support. To fold down the support element, simply press the button on its head.
