New cabinets for young adventurers
MDR television show re-equips playroom at Magdeburg University Hospital – Stiegelmeyer helps out
Sometimes it has to be fast. Very fast. For example, in the game show "Mach dich ran" (Get to it!) of the German tv station Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR): There is a daily task every week, for the host Marius D. Richardt has to organise a big project within a few hours in order to help the people in the broadcasting region. Last week he succeeded again – and our production location in Nordhausen played a large part in this.
The children's cancer ward at Magdeburg University Hospital urgently needed a nice new playroom. Here, up to twelve little patients forget the worries of everyday life and, together with their parents and siblings, gather strength to recover quickly. The renovation of the playroom was a great task that everyone wanted to take part in. But managing everything in one day, without any preparation? Anyone who has ever moved knows what a challenge it is.
From company to company
Host Richardt and his team were not discouraged and hurried in all directions. The path led from the painting business to the furniture store with the children's chairs to the flooring specialist. There was often hectic rush and confusion at first because the right contact persons were not on site, but everything went smoothly very quickly.
At Stiegelmeyer in Nordhausen, the TV team was immediately and enthusiastically helped. Cupboards and shelves for the university hospital had to meet high standards of hygiene and fire protection. No problem for our colleagues: In a very short time, they built precisely fitting furniture wall units for both sides of the room, drove to Magdeburg and furnished the playroom beautifully. Our production manager Peter Günther commented calmly and confidently on the work in Nordhausen for the television camera.
Great surprise
In the end, the children in Magdeburg received an exciting gift during the Advent season. The room now glows in friendly yellow and green, a cheerfully patterned bench invites you to sit down and a majestic knight's castle attracts young princesses and princes to wild adventures. All the beautiful games and toys can be stored in Stiegelmeyer's cabinets and shelves. We are very happy that we could support the university hospital in Magdeburg and wish the children and the whole team a blessed Christmas and a happy new year full of confidence.
