Kuopio is a city with 120,000 inhabitants in the Savo region, in the middle of Finland. It is home to a renowned university hospital that was looking for reliable, versatile hospital beds. An important requirement was that the beds should be able to be reprocessed automatically. A welcome task for our Finnish Stiegelmeyer team, which was solved to everyone's satisfaction.

Bright colours have played a varied role in Stiegelmeyer's long history. In the 1970s, even our hospital beds were green and orange. Then again, a strict triad of white-grey-wood prevailed. When people suffer from severe dementia or physical weakness in old age, their risk of falling can assume threatening proportions. In a report on the subject, the German magazine "Altenpflege" described the case of a man who had fallen down 26 times a day in a nursing home and had seriously injured himself. Our Evario is a bed for all hospital wards - and has customised control elements. In addition to the LCD handset, there is a choice of control panels integrated into the Protega safety side on both sides of the bed. Satisfied customers are the best reward for our work. That's why we were very pleased when we discovered a video of the Dortmund Hüttenhospital on the Internet. The German hospital had purchased the space-saving Stiegelmeyer Quado bedside cabinet and was so satisfied with it that it published a short film on social media about the Quado's strengths. "The Hüttenhospital has new bedside tables," the accompanying text reads: "They not only look stylish, but also make everyday life easier for our staff and patients ... A new acquisition that was worthwhile."
